H.M.S. Tourmaline was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

Tourmaline completed to full crew at Portsmouth, 18 December, 1919.[6]

Tourmaline was re-commissioned at Portsmouth with reduced crew on 29 November, 1923. By March 1925, she was in service in the Mediterranean.[7]

Re-commissioned at Gibraltar for service with the Gibraltar Local Defence Flotilla on 24 November, 1928.[8]
