H.M.S. Simoom was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

There was a previous "R" class destroyer named Simoom launched in 1916 but lost in January 1917.

Service

She reduced to Reserve at Devonport in February, 1920.[6]

Paid off into Maintenance Reserve on 23 December, 1927.[7]

Simoom arrived at Sheerness on 18 October, 1930.[8]
