H.M.S. Spear was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

Spear was recommissioned at Malta on 17 June, 1920.[6]

She was reduced to Reserve Complement on 21 May 1924. By March 1925 she was attached to the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla of the Atlantic Fleet.[7]
