H.M.S. Stormcloud was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

Stormcloud was commissioned on 20 January, 1920.[6]

She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 28 January, 1925.[7]

Re-commissioned at the Nore on 7 January, 1927.[8]

Re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 1 October, 1929 for continued service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla.[9]

In November 1929, she collided with Somme through circumstances a Court of Enquiry determined was a lack of through and consideration on the part of Lt. Cdr. Walter J. B. Handley.[10]
