H.M.S. Sparrowhawk was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

There were two earlier destroyers named Sparrowhawk: one launched in 1895 and one launched in 1912.

Service

She recommissioned at Portsmouth on 27 April, 1920.[6]

In 1921 and 1922 she served as division leader in Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, which was serving in the Mediterranean.[7]

Reduced to Reserve Complement on 21 May 1924. By March 1925 she was attached to the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla of the Atlantic Fleet.[8]

She re-commissioned with Reserve Crew on 10 December, 1925.[9]

Paid off into Maintenance Reserve at Rosyth on 17 November, 1927.[10]
