H.M.S. Whitshed was one of fifteen destroyers of the Modified "W" class.

Service

Whitshed was commissioned on 29 May, 1919.[8]

She was re-commissioned at Chatham on 8 October, 1923 to serve with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]

Re-commissioned at Chatham on 30 April, 1926 to rejoin the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[10]

Whitshed was re-commissioned on 21 August, 1928 for service with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[11]

Paid off into Dockyard Control at Sheerness on 23 April, 1931[12] until being commissioned at Portsmouth on 11 December, 1931.[13]

She re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 2 April, 1934 for service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla on the China Station.

By October 1935, she was with First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[14]

Commissioned on 15 September, 1936 for work with the Portsmouth Local Destroyer Flotilla.[15]
