H.M.S. Wishart was one of fifteen destroyers of the Modified "W" class.
Service
Wishart was commissioned at Southampton on 28 May, 1920.[8]
She was re-commissioned on 6 July, 1923 for service with the Third Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]
Re-commissioned on 2 February, 1926 for service with the Third Destroyer Flotilla, this time on the China Station.[10]
Re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 16 October, 1928 for service with the Third Destroyer Flotilla, now back in the Mediterranean.[11]
She paid off into Dockyard Control at Chatham on 13 September 1930.[12]
Re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 24 April, 1933 for service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla on the China Station.[13] By October 1935, she was with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[14]
In 1935, her bell was one of several ships' bells the Royal Navy offered for sale to officers and others interested. It attracted a price of £1-£5, and men were to apply to win one at the fixed price, stating any special attachment or claim they had to the item(s) applied for.[15]
Wishart was re-commissioned at Chatham on 31 August, 1936.[16]
