Robert Henry More Molyneux

Admiral SIR Robert Henry More Molyneux, G.C.B., Royal Navy (6 August, 1838 – 29 February, 1904) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Molyneux was promoted to the rank of Commander on 18 December, 1865.[1]

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 5 February, 1872, Molyneux was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 6 February, 1872.[2]

He was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 14 August, 1882.[3]

Molyneux was appointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp to Queen Victoria dated 27 March, 1885, vice Ward.[4] On 7 November he was appointed a Knight Commander in the Military Division of the Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[5]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 May, 1888, vice Moresby.[6] He was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Devonport Dockyard on 4 August, 1891.[7]

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 28 May, 1894, vice Carpenter.[8]

He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 13 July, 1899, vice Hopkins.[9] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List on 6 August, 1903.[10]
