Commander{ (retired) Hugh Edward Heaton, J.P. (7 July, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Colonel Wilfred Heaton.

Heaton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1915.[1]

Heaton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1923.[2]

Heaton was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 7 July, 1934.[3]

World War II

At the outset, Heaton was deemed temporarily unfit owing to a serious accident in which his neck had been broken. He was not expected to be well until June 1939 at the earliest.

Heaton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 10 February, 1941.[4]
