Commander (retired) Harold William Seaman, (15 December, 1897 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Seaman was a special entry to the Training Establishment in September, 1916. His guardian upon joining the Navy was L. G. R. Thring. On 17 March 1917 he was appointed to the battleship Collingwood.[1]

On 14 October 1918, Seaman's application for a "T.C. [Torpedo Control] course with a view to service in P. Boats" was noted.[2]

Seaman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1919.[3]

Seaman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1927.[4]

World War II

Admitted to Haslar on 9 April, 1939 with nervous debility.[5]

Seaman was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander on 7 August, 1939.[6] A medical report on 18 December 1939 noted that "[b]y end of month should be fit for light duty."[7]
