H.M.S. Winchelsea was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Winchelsea joined the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla in March 1918.[7]

She re-commissioned on 27 August, 1920.[8]

Winchelsea was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 15 September, 1924 to serve with the Second Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]
