H.M.S. Angler was one of the Royal Navy's eleven "D" class destroyers.

Service

Angler was part of the Chatham Flotilla in mid-1899 under command of John Michael de Robeck.[8]

Angler arrived at Sheerness with six other destroyers from the North Sea on 1 October, 1901.[9]

Angler paid off at Malta on 30 December, 1904.[10]

In December 1905, she was in reserve at Malta.[11]

In mid-1911, she was in the Mediterranean.[12]

On 1 July 1913, she left Malta for Corfu with eight other destroyers under the lead of the torpedo gunboat Hussar.[13] On 4 July, the destroyers left Corfu for Platea, sans Hussar.[14]

In mid-1913, she was still in the Mediterranean,[15] arriving at Brindisi on 11 September, 1913 under the command of Lt. Cdr. Thomas Kennedy Maxwell.[16]

She was with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla during the Test Mobilisation of July 1914.

Around early September, 1917, she collided with T.B. 98.[17]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

I do not understand why Hamilton and Codrington conflict on this and other appointments.
