H.M. T.B. 52 (1886)
Builder: John I. Thornycroft & Company[1]
Ordered: 30 April/1 May, 1885[2]
Launched: 1886[3]
Completed: September 1886[4]
Sold: 19 December, 1919[5]

H.M. T.B. 52 was one of 53 first-class torpedo boats of the 125 Footer class.

Around 1906-1907, with the issuance of torpedo boat numbers to the first of the Cricket class torpedo boats, the existing Torpedo Boats numbered 25 to 79 had a "0" prepended to their number. This vessel, therefore, became T.B. 052.[6]

Service

In 1895, she was one of thirteen T.B.s of 125 feet or greater length and four smaller ones stationed in Devonport.[7]

She commissioned on 8 July to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1896 under the command of Acting Sub-Lieutenant in Command D. T. Morris, whom I have been unavble to identify precisely.[8]

Sold to Multilocular Shipbreaking Co. on 19 December, 1919.[9]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.
