Captain Maurice Dorsett Evans, R.N. (28 July, 1877 – 16 December, 1945) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Clifton, Nottingham the son of Major D. N. Evans.

Evans was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1898.

In June 1901 he obtained a first class certificate as a Lieutenant (T).

Evans was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1909.

Evans was appointed in command of the boom defence vessel Prince Edward from 6 February, 1915 to 1 October, 1915.

Evans was appointed in command of the transport ship Mona's Isle from November, 1915 until being superseded on 24 August, 1918.

Evans was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1918.

Evans was appointed in command of the scout cruiser Blonde on 10 January, 1919.[1]

Evans was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 14 April, 1919.
