H.M.S. Wrangler was one of eleven gunboats of the Banterer class completed for the Royal Navy around 1880.

Service

She was commissioned at Devonport on 14 July, 1885 under Lieutenant Harry Dampier Law and proceeded to the Cape of Good Hope and West Coast of Africa Station.[3]

In 1913, she was a boom defence vessel stationed in Southampton.[4]
