The Third Torpedo Flotilla was a formation in the United States Navy created in 1905.

History

January, 1906

Initial strength is six destroyers.

Attached to the Coast Squadron, North Atlantic Fleet[1]

January, 1907

The flotilla is now attached to the Atlantic Fleet and the strength has been reduced to five destroyers with only Blakely (now at the Naval Torpedo Station) remaining from the previous roster.

If the Flotilla is still assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, it is not explicitly stated. Strength is five destroyers, with Stringham, the largest, being the lead ship.

Blakely and Wilkes have left to join the Reserve Torpedo Flotilla, with Thornton and Tingey joining from that same formation.
