Captain R.N.R. Ronald Court Glazebrook, R.D., R.N.R., Retired (26 February, 1882 – 20 August, 1930) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. He spoke a little Italian.
Life & Career
Born in Liverpool.
Glazebrook was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. with seniority of 19 May, 1909.[1]
Glazebrook was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. with seniority of 19 May, 1917. He demobilised on 19 March 1919.[2]
Glazebrook was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1921.[3]
Glazebrook was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 28 March, 1927.[4]
Glazebrook drowned with five others when the chartered motor yacht Islander capsized off Cornwall with Commodore H. D. King, M.P.'s party in a severe gale on 20 August, 1930. It was supposed that the yacht's steering gear may have been damaged after striking a rock in the bay.[5][6][7]
