Commander (retired) John Harold Smith-Wright, R.N. (18 August, 1882 – 19 Maarch, 1930) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Smith-Wright passed out of Britannia in December, 1897 ranked fifth of the sixty-four cadets who passed out, with 1785 marks.[1]

Smith-Wright was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1903.[2]

Smith-Wright was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1911. He retired in May, 1912, but on the 30th he requested that this be cancelled, which it was.[3]

Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 25 August, 1920, Smith-Wright was promoted to the rank of Commander on 18 August, 1922.[4]
