Rear-Admiral Hugh Skinner Shipway, Royal Navy (14 March, 1880 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Shipway was born in Middlesex, the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Shipway.

Shipway was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 26 June, 1902.[1]

Shipway married Mabel Young Niblett on 6 April, 1910 at St. Gabriel's in Cricklewood and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 26 June.[2]

Shipway was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1914.[3]

Post-War

Shipway was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1919.[4]

Shipway was appointed in command of the light cruiser Dublin in October, 1922.

Shipway was appointed in command of the battleship Malaya in November, 1929.

Shipway was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 July, 1932 and was placed on the Retired List the following day.[5]
