Vice-Admiral (retired) Herbert William Sumner Gibson, Royal Navy (22 April, 1846 – 7 July, 1923) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Gibson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 5 September, 1867.[1]

Gibson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1880.[2]

Gibson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1888.[3]

Placed on the Retired List on account of age on 22 April, 1900, he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 11 August, 1901.[4]

Gibson was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 4 December, 1905.[5]
