Admiral (retired) Henry Rose, R.N. (10 February, 1844 – 21 October, 1928) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Rose was promoted to Lieutenant on 31 August, 1864.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1875.[2]

Promoted to Captain on 29 June 1883,[3] Rose was appointed to command the ironclad Triumph, a ship he had served on in the late 1870s, on 1 January, 1885.[4]

Rose was appointed in command of H.M.S. Indus, Devonport Guardship, from 1 October, 1894 to 1 October, 1897.[5]

Rose was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 29 November, 1898, vice Bridge.[6] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 6 August, 1903, vice Buckle.[7] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 4 December, 1878, he was placed on the Retired List on 10 February, 1904.[8]

Rose was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 March, 1907.[9]
