H.M. T.B. 86 (1889)
Builder: Yarrow & Company[1]
Launched: 1889[2]
Completed: September 1889[3]
Sold: 22 October, 1921[4]
H.M. T.B. 86 was one of six first-class torpedo boats of the T.B. 82 class.

Service

In 1895, T.B. 86 was one of thirteen torpedo boats of 125 feet or greater length and four smaller ones stationed in Devonport.[5]

In 1904, she collided with T.B. 82 while under the command of Brien Michael Money – a rare mis-step on the part of the talented officer.[6]

In 1911 while under the command of Lt. Frederick Archibald Warner, T.B. 86 collided with T.B. 042. Warner was blamed for the accident through an error in judgement on his part.[7]

Sold initially to Stanlee of Dover, but then resold to J. E. Thomas on 22 October, 1921 alongside her sisters T.B. 82 and T.B. 85.[8]
