T.B. 49 Class Torpedo Boat (1888)

The two second-class torpedo boats of the T.B. 49 Class were built by Yarrow & Company in 1888.[1]

Armament

Originally, these boats may have been considered for provision with alternative armament schemes wherein guns and torpedo tubes could be swapped out to emphasise one role over another, as in the 125 Footers, but in 1888 a decision was made to abolish this practice.[2]
