H.M.S. Mallard was one of eleven destroyers of the "D" class — one of the two-funnelled "30 knotters".
Service
In mid-1913, she was at Malta.[9] In November, she was ordered to return to England,[10] apparently being entrusted to Chief Gunner Michael Horrigan for the voyage.
