H.M.S. L 4 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In 1925, she was part of Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station, but no officers are listed with her in the Navy List.[7]

In mid-1927, Lieutenant Halahan is listed with her, but not expressly said to be "in command."[8]

Paid off into Dockyard Control at Portsmouth on 15 April, 1930.[9]
