H.M.S. Cockatrice was one of fifteen Britomart Class wooden gunboats completed for the Royal Navy. She was renamed YC 10 in 1882 and sold in 1885.

Re-commissioned at Malta on 21 April, 1871.[2]

Re-commissioned at Malta on 14 March, 1876.[3]

Commissioned at Devonport on 2 January, 1883.[4]
