C 13 left Sheerness on 25 April, 1914 to make her way to Harwich to resume her duties with the Sixth Submarine Flotilla.[6]

She stayed with the formation when it was re-designated the Second Submarine Flotilla in December, 1916.

In September or October 1918, she joined the Third Submarine Flotilla on the East Coast of England.
