Captain Gerard Walter Trevelyan Robertson, (25 July, 1889 – 12 August, 1936) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Robertson was born in Durham, the son of the Lord Bishop of Exeter.

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 February, 1910.[1]

During the war, he served as gunnery officer in the second class protected cruiser Juno and the battleships Commonwealth and Lord Nelson.

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 February, 1918.[2]

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1922.[3]

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1930. He commanded the Template:UK-Resource in 1931-32.

Robertson was selected to command the new light cruiser H.M.S. Penelope in June 1936 as she was nearing completion, which was expected to occur in September. However, he died in a motor vehicle accident in Belfast on 12 August.
