Commander R.N.R. (retired) George Leslie Harold Dean, D.S.C, R.D. (22 January, 1887 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Dean was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1918.[1]

Dean commanded the patrol boat P12 from March to her sinking on 4 November 1918. Known as a trustworthy commander of "P" boats, he was appointed to P23 on 24 November, 1918.[2]

Dean was appointed in command of the destroyer Ettrick on 14 January, 1919.[3] Two months later, he was appointed to Egmont for special service with Admiral Troubridge.[4]

He was demobilised on 2 November, 1919.[5]

Dean was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.[6]

Dean was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 22 January, 1932.[7]
