Captain (retired) Frank George Fowle, D.S.C. (12 March, 1889 – 24 February, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Fowle was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1909.[1]

After service early in the war as a gunnery officer in the light cruiser Aurora, Fowle was appointed to Erebus as gunnery officer on 25 July, 1916 and served in this capacity until 25 October, 1918, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1917.[2]

Fowle was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 24 August, 1931.[3]

World War II

Fowle was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 March, 1941 and made Chief Superintendent of Design at Woolwich. He served in thius role until he died in early 1942.[4]
