Captain, retired Frank George Bramble, D.S.O. (28 April, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
He served as gunnery officer in the battleships Albemarle, Dominion, and Dreadnought.
Life & Career
Bramble was born in Hants, his father a Fleet Paymaster in the Navy.
Bramble was 3rd Term Captain at Britannia. In his final examination he came 19th out of 69 cadets, attaining 1,625 out of a maximum possible of 2,400.
He was promoted to Midshipman on 30 May, 1902, without exam.
He was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant on 30 July, 1905.
He was promoted to Lieutenant on 30 October, 1906.[1] He married Edith Ruby Walker at St. Paul's Church in Weymouth Dorset on 22 April, 1911.
He was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander on 30 October, 1914.
He was promoted to Commander on 31 December, 1918, having just spent a few months in gunnery duties aboard Dreadnought. Newly promoted, he was appointed to the light cruiser Champion for gunnery duties with the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.
Bramble was promoted to Captain on 28 April, 1922 and placed on the retired list on his own request on 28 April, 1932.[2]
