Admiral Francis Alban Arthur Giffard Tate, Royal Navy, Retired (7 June, 1853 – 4 January, 1930) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Tate was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1891.[1]

Captain

Tate was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1897.[2]

He was appointed to the Hindustan on 12 July, 1905.[3]

Flag Rank

Tate was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 30 July, 1912, vice Neville. He was placed on the Retired List on the 31st at his own request.[4] He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 9 June, 1916.[5]
