Captain Edward Glyn de Styrap Jukes Hughes (10 May, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

His last name is sometimes offered as Jukes-Hughes, but Jukes appears to have been considered part of his last name, regardless.

Life & Career

Jukes Hughes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 15 April, 1904.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander with seniority of 15 April, 1912.[2]

He was appointed as Gunnery Officer of the armoured cruiser Minotaur on 6 January, 1914,[3] and served her in this capacity at the Battle of Jutland.[4]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 30 June, 1916.[5]

He was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 30 May, 1929.[6]
