Captain (retired) Basil Rupert Willett, C.B.E., D.S.C., (23 July, 1896 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Willett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1917.

Willett was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the patrol boat P31 on 11 November, 1920.[1] He qualified for signals in March, 1922.

Willett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1935.

Willett was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.

World War II

Willett was granted the acting rank of Captain on 23 October, 1939.

Willett was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain on 8 October, 1945. In 1948, he proceeded to South America to work with Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Company.
