Captain (retired) Arthur Ronald Farquhar, D.S.C. (20 April, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1910.[1]

In 1914 Farquhar was awarded the Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal for saving an A.B. at sea on 1 January, 1914.[2]

Farquhar was mentioned for his services in the bombardment of the aerodrome at Prosecco (near Trieste) on 29 May, 1917.[3]

Farquhar was appointed in command of the destroyer Trinidad on 10 August, 1918.[4]

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1918.[5]

Post-War

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924.[6]

Farquhar was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 21 April, 1934.[7]

World War II

In August, 1939, Farquhar was appointed Senior Officer, Second Minesweeping Flotilla.

In October, 1941, he was appointed in command of H.M.S. Watchful, which I cannot identify further.
