Commander (retired) Arthur Louis Sanders (11 July, 1886 – ) served in the Royal Navy, entering as a Supplementary Lieutenant.

Life & Career

Sanders was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on the Supplementary List on 1 April, 1913.[1]

Sander's first seagoing appointment was to the destroyer Speedy on 24 May 1913. He would survive her sinking on 3 September 1914.[2]

Sanders was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 108 on 15 February, 1918.[3]

In 1919 and 1920, he would command Morris Dance and James Chapman.[4]

Sanders was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1921.[5]

Sanders was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 1 February, 1927.[6]

World War II

A variety of appointments, including command of minesweepers vice Keaton[?] in 1940 and an appointment at Holyhead. Also commanded L.S.T. 37 and ships named "Tele of Thanet[?] and White Bear.[7]
