Alfred Englefield Evans ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Evans was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 16 on 10 March, 1914.[1] It was transferred to the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, operating out of Devonport, and its twelve T.Bs. were in a reduced state, seemingly under Evans's sole oversight.[2]

On 4 December, 1917, Evans was appointed in command of the destroyer Michael.[3]

In January, 1927, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Birmingham.[4]

Evans was appointed in command of the light cruiser Calcutta in September, 1928.[5]
