Vice-Admiral Alexander Percy Davidson, D.S.O., Royal Navy, Retired (30 March, 1868 – 11 February, 1930) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Davidson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1891.[1]

On the occasion of the coronation of King George V Davidson was promoted to the rank of Captain dated 22 June, 1911.[2]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Cornwallis on 1 June, 1914.[3]

Great War

He was appointed to command the battleship Duncan on 6 August, 1914.[4]

He was again appointed command of Cornwallis on 21 January, 1915,[5] following a brief tenure under Charles E. Le Mesurier since September.[6]

On 1 June, 1918, Davidson was appointed in charge of the Dockyard and Naval Establishments at Dover.[7]

Post-War

Davidson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 27 September, 1921 and was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 28 September. He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 25 October, 1926.[8]
