Captain Alan Dixon, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (16 January, 1880 – 8 August, 1948) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Bexhill, the orphaned son of Captain Dixon. The date of his admission to Britannia is perhaps wrongly read as July, 1894.

Dixon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1902.[1]

Dixon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1910.

Dixon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915.

Dixon was appointed in command of the monitor M.29 on 6 May, 1918.[2]

Post-War

Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 10 August, 1922.

Dixon was promoted to the rank of Captain on 16 January, 1925.
