H.M.S. Ghurka was one of 12 destroyers of the "Tribal" class.

Service

In mid-1913, she was serving with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

On 4 March, 1915, Ghurka, under the command of Lieutenant-Commander Richardson and Maori joined ten other destroyers in prosecuting U 8 which Viking had been attacking, successfully blowing the submarine to the surface and taking 28 prisoners.[8]

Radio

In 1909, she became one of forty-three destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[9]

Guns

By 1912-13, her five 12-pdr P. I mountings bore register numbers 210, 211, 212, 279 and 280 and were fitted with "Training Gear".[10]
