Service

Re-commissioned at Devonport on 4 January, 1924 for service with the Second Battle Squadron, Atlantic Fleet.[8]

She paid off into Dockyard Control on 22 December, 1926.[9] In 1927, she became the second Royal navy ship, after Vindictive, to be equipped with a catapult for launching aircraft, though by mid 1932, her catapult would no longer be in place.[10] She was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 30 December, 1927.[11]

Completed to full complement at Devonport on 3 February, 1931 for service as flagship of the First Battle Squadron in the Mediterranean.[12]

Re-commissioned at Plymouth on 7 September, 1933 as flagship for the Mediterranean, part of the First Battle Squadron.[13]

Re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 15 September, 1936 for service with the Second Battle Squadron, Home Fleet.[14]

Boats

In July 1914, the ship was appropriated 42-foot motor launch No. 254, though the boat was not yet delivered from the contractor.[15]

Alterations

In March, 1915, Open Director Sights were ordered for all[Inference] her turrets. They were likely in place by her completion.[16]

Her secondary battery directors were installed in April, 1917.[17]
