James Gregson Roper

Captain James Gregson Roper, O.B.E. (25 February, 1901 – 12 July, 1945) served in the Royal Navy. He was a special entry to the service.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Roper was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1923.
Roper was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1931.
Roper was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1935.
World War II
Roper was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1940.
Roper died in an airplane crash in July 1945.
