Admiral SIR Ralph Alan Bevan Edwards, K.C.B., C.B.E. (31 March, 1901 – 4 February, 1963) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

Served in the battlecruiser Tiger from September, 1917 to January, 1919.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1922.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1930.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1934.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1939.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 10 July, 1948.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 26 January, 1952.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 22 April, 1955.

He retired 15 May 1958.
