Commander Herbert Masterman Ellis, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (5 June, 1891 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Ellis was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant on 15 February, 1912.[1]

Ellis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1914.

Ellis was appointed in command of the destroyer Savage on 9 September, 1918.[2]

Post-War

Ellis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1922.

Ellis was removed from the list of officers for non-report on 8 May 1933, but in 1935 his name was restored with his seniority intact.

Ellis was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 5 June, 1931.

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List as medically unfit on 25 June, 1943.
