Captain (retired) Robert Alexander Rice, R.N. (29 October, 1877 – 17 April, 1949) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Born in Edinburgh the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Rice.

Rice was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1898.

Rice was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1909.

Rice was appointed in command of Abercrombie on 16 May, 1917.[1]

Rice was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1924.
