Admiral Herbert Augustus Warren, M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (24 July, 1855 – 30 October, 1926) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Warren was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 16 April, 1878.[1]
He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1892.[2]
Warren was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1898.[3]
In July 1900, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Vindictive.[4]
He was appointed in command of the pre-dreadnoughts Empress of India in September 1904[5] and Jupiter on 15 August, 1905.[6]
On the occasion of the King's visit to Malta Warren was appointed a Member of the Fourth Class of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) on 21 April, 1903.[7]

Warren was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral dated 20 September, 1907, vice Horsley.[8]
In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, Warren was placed on the Retired List on 20 March, 1911.[9] He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 31 July, 1912.[10] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 9 June, 1916.[11]
