Captain (retired) Martin Edward Scobell Boissier, D.S.O., R.N. (27 August, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Blocham, Oxford, the son of Reverend S. S. Boissier.
Boissier was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1908.[1]
On 22 October, 1914, he was appointed to the battleship Emperor of India as flag Lt. to Rear-Admiral Duff of the Fourth Battle Squadron.[2]
Boissier was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1914. On 16 December, 1915, he was appointed to the battleship King George V as flag Lt. Cdr. to Vice-Admiral Jerram of the Second Battle Squadron. He would be in the ship at the Battle of Jutland.[3]
Boissier was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1918.[4]
Boissier was placed on the Retired List at his own request after his relief, that date being 25 October, 1923. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 27 August, 1929.[5]
World War II
He served as Chief of Staff to Naval Officer in Charge, Milford Haven from 24 August, 1939 to 21 March, 1942. He later commanded Flowerdown W/T Station, and reverted to the Retired List on 4 May, 1946.[6]
