Admiral SIR Richard Fortescue Phillimore, G.C.B., K.C.M.G., M.V.O., J.P., Royal Navy (23 December, 1864 – 8 November, 1940) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Phillimore was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1899.[1]

Great War

Phillimore was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 9 August, 1915, vice Beatty.[2]

Phillimore was knighted and made a Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George on 1 January, 1918.[3] On 15 March he was appointed Admiral Commanding Aircraft (A.C.A.) with his flag in H.M.S. Furious.[4]

Phillimore was placed on the Retired List on 6 October, 1929.[5]
