Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. William Edwin Lindop, R.N.R. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Lindop came from Cardiff.

Lindop was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 7 October, 1915. He served in the paddle steamers Walton Belle and Lady Moyra, and provided valuable salvage service on the occasion of the mining of the Swedish S. S. Frieland on 2 May, 1916.[1]

On 18 August 1916, he grounded Lady Moyra off Clacton Pier and was cautioned to be more careful in future. On 23 May 1917 he would be placed in command of Lady Moyra.[2]

Lindop was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 7 October, 1917.[3]

Demobilised on 3 November 1919.[4]
