Lieutenant-Commander (retired) William Albert Dumbleton (1 June, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Promoted to Gunner on 14 August, 1911.[1]

Dumbleton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 February, 1916.[2]

Dumbleton was appointed in command of the patrol boat P57 on 4 October, 1918.[3]

Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 19 June, 1920, Dumbleton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 February, 1924.[4]

World War II

After suffering from tooth disease in 1937 and a bout of neurasthenia in September 1939, Dumbleton's most useful days were behind him. Commodore Burnett noted that he was "doing his best and has been most loyal."[5]
